Policy Components

Policy Components are the individual building blocks used to create a policy. Each component defines specific rules or configurations that control how a device behaves once it is enrolled.

Policy components can be of different types depending on the kind of control required:

  • General components – Cover standard device settings such as password rules, screen lock behavior, connectivity, and basic restrictions.
  • Application components – Manage app-related settings including app installation, blocking, permissions, and managed configurations.
  • Kiosk components – Restrict the device to a single application set in Kiosk mode, making it ideal for dedicated-purpose devices.
  • Network components – Configure connectivity settings such as Wi-Fi, VPN, and proxy configurations.
  • Security components – Define encryption, compliance rules, remote actions, and advanced security configurations.
  • Advanced components – Handle deeper system-level configurations and specialized restrictions for complex use cases.

By combining different types of policy components, administrators can create flexible, reusable, and highly targeted policies tailored to specific groups or devices.
